Spontaneity

I got this idea in my head a few days ago to accompany Nourhan on her JFK flight tonight. How fun would that be?! Granted, it’s only 24 hours, but who cares – the return trip costs the equivalent of US$215 and I could stay in the crew hotel for free. I’d freeze..but at least I would glimpse New York City finally for the first time. I’ve been desperately trying to swap a duty day with someone so it would be possible, but it’s so much harder than I thought!

I desperately need some spontaneity.. I haven’t been doing much of anything lately, just living by my roster.. Example: it’s Thursday – the start of the weekend – and yet I won’t be going out because my pick-up tomorrow is 6:10am! The first time I really want to trade and I can’t find the means (someone that is legal to swap and who also wants the swap) to do it!

I want to use these unlimited tickets I have, you know! Pick a place, throw some belongings haphazardly in a bag, and go. It’s so frustrating!!

I finished the second (and final) day of A320/319 (the baby planes) training earlier this afternoon. So once I get my new license I will be qualified to fly on all the aricraft types we have – and I find out if the 320 horror stories have any basis in reality (unlikely). I will have the opportunity for new layovers and routes now though! Minsk, Moscow, Almaty, Trivandrum etc.

Arggg.. and I nearly forgot, I have a driving class tonight. I’m so tired, but I want to stick with it.. especially since it’s only the first class!!
